Honda Odyssey VCM Fitment Guide — Model Year Is Only the First Check
Honda has used Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) on Odyssey applications for many years, but “Honda Odyssey” by itself is not a complete compatibility check.

More importantly, model year coverage should not be confused with VCM equipment. Honda's own historical documentation shows that earlier Odyssey generations did not necessarily use VCM across every version of the vehicle. For example, Honda described VCM as standard on leather-equipped Odyssey models in 2007, while its 2008 documentation specifically identifies EX-L and Touring models as VCM-equipped.
That creates a useful two-step check:

On some older VCM-equipped Odysseys, the ECO indicator made cylinder-management operation easier for the driver to observe. But on newer vehicles, an illuminated green efficiency indicator should not automatically be interpreted as proof that VCM is active or inactive.
