Selectable VCM Control for Honda Ridgeline
The Recontrol-X RC-VCM-01-02 VCM Disabler Harness is supplied for Honda Ridgeline applications and uses an inline ECT1 coolant-temperature sensor connection rather than the OBD-II port. Its purpose is to prevent compatible Honda Variable Cylinder Management operation and maintain full-cylinder engine operation without permanently reflashing the ECU.
A key product feature is the integrated four-position resistance selector:
68Ω / 82Ω / 100Ω / 120Ω
The supplied setup material recommends starting with 82Ω and adjusting when required by vehicle operating conditions. Because this is a manually selectable resistor design, it should not be marketed as an automatic or self-adjusting controller.
How Ridgeline VCM Works
Honda's second-generation Ridgeline uses a V6 with Variable Cylinder Management. Honda documentation for the 2017 Ridgeline explains that under lower engine loads the system can operate using one bank of three cylinders, while all six cylinders are available when greater output is required. Current 2026 Honda specifications continue to list VCM across the Ridgeline lineup.

ECT1 Inline Installation
Installation is performed under the hood:

Important Ridgeline Fitment Difference
The supplier file lists 2007-2026, but independent verification does not support treating that entire span identically.
Honda's earlier Ridgeline literature describes the first-generation engine as VTEC without listing VCM, while VCM is clearly documented on the redesigned 2017+ model. There are also no U.S. 2015 or 2016 Ridgeline model years.
Therefore the supplier fitment remains preserved, but 2007-2016 should be confirmed before public release.
