The Giulia’s Stop/Start system can switch the engine off while the vehicle is stationary and restart it when driving resumes. Alfa Romeo provides an A-OFF button for drivers who want to change this behavior, but repeating the selection after startup can become an unwanted part of an otherwise driver-focused sedan.
The Recontrol-X Auto Start Stop Eliminator adds preference memory to that existing control. When OFF is the setting you prefer, choose it with the factory button and the module is designed to restore that choice on future starts. It does not erase the switch or lock the car into one permanent mode; the original A-OFF control remains available whenever you want to change the setting.

- Support the panel and locate the electrical connector behind the A-OFF control.
- Press the connector lock and disconnect the factory plug by its housing, not by the wires.
- Insert the Recontrol-X harness between the vehicle connector and switch assembly.
- Seat both connector locks, arrange the short harness so it cannot be pinched and reinstall the panel.
- Start the Giulia, check the button indicator and select the preferred setting.
No factory wire needs to be cut, tapped or spliced. The installation does not require an ECU tune or a programming session. Work slowly around the decorative switch surround; careful clip release matters more than force.
