2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Plug & Play
Description
2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Auto Start Stop Eliminator
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Stop/Start system can automatically shut the engine off while the truck is stopped and restart it when driving resumes. Chevrolet provides a factory button to disable the system on equipped trucks, but the OFF selection is not normally retained after the next vehicle restart.
Chevrolet's owner's manual states that Auto Stop is enabled each time the vehicle is started.
For Silverado owners who habitually press the A-OFF button immediately after starting the truck, that creates the same repetitive step on every trip.
The Recontrol-X Auto Start Stop Eliminator is designed to remember that preference automatically while continuing to use the factory switch interface.
Remember the Setting You Actually Use
Less repetitive startup routine: If Auto Stop OFF is your normal preference, you no longer need to remember the same button press every time you get into the truck.
Original A-OFF switch remains available: The module does not eliminate access to the factory control.
Switch-based operation: Rather than tuning the ECM or plugging a device into the diagnostic port, this product works inline with the original Auto Stop switch circuit.
Current Silverado-specific switch modules solve the same customer pain point by automatically restoring the previous Stop/Start preference after each ignition cycle. Customer reviews repeatedly cite “not having to hit the button every time” as the main reason for buying them.
Compact 6.10-Inch Harness
The module measures approximately:
6.10 inches / 155 mm
The short harness contains the control module between two matching connectors, allowing it to connect inline behind the factory switch without requiring permanent changes to the vehicle harness.
Installation Behind the Auto Stop Switch
The supplied installation layout shows the module being installed in the center-stack switch panel, not in the engine bay and not at the OBD-II port.
Installation requires access behind the factory switch:
Remove the lower trim bezel and fastener.
Release the surrounding trim panel carefully.
Remove the required screws to gain access to the switch assembly.
Unplug the factory Auto Stop switch connector.
Install the Recontrol-X harness between the factory button and vehicle harness.
Fully lock the connections and reinstall the panels.
The electrical portion is simple; the part that requires patience is trim removal. Silverado owners report that this style of installation is manageable as a DIY job but recommend taking care around the plastic clips and panels.
No Permanent Factory Harness Modification
The installation is designed around existing connectors.
No cutting the original vehicle harness
No wire splicing
No permanent modification of the factory switch connector
No ECU calibration change
No OBD-II coding process
And because the module installs inline, it can later be removed and the factory plug reconnected.

Important 2021 Feature Check
Confirm that your Silverado actually has the factory Stop/Start system and A-OFF button before ordering.
GM issued updated 2021 information stating that some Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 vehicles built during 2021 were not equipped with Stop/Start. That means model year by itself is not enough to confirm that a specific 2021 truck needs an eliminator.
This check should be prominently visible on the PDP because it can directly prevent incorrect orders.
Before Checkout
Verify 2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
Find the factory A-OFF / Auto Stop disable button in the switch panel.
If there is no factory Stop/Start button, do not order this product solely because the year appears in the fitment range.
Compare the dashboard and switch assembly with the installation images.
If aftermarket equipment has changed the switch-bank wiring, verify the connector before installation.
Not a Repair for an Existing Stop/Start Fault
An eliminator changes a driver's preference for a normally functioning system.
It does not diagnose or repair:
Stop/Start unavailable conditions
Battery charging problems
Existing dashboard warnings
Damaged switches or wiring
Engine stalling faults
Chevrolet lists battery state, temperature, climate-control demand, hood position, certain drive modes and other operating conditions as reasons why Auto Stop may not occur.

S&Q
Does this fit every 2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
It is designed for 2019, 2020, and 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks equipped with the factory Stop/Start system and A-OFF switch. Before ordering, physically confirm your truck has that factory button. This is especially important for 2021 because some trucks from that model year were produced without Stop/Start.
Does the module permanently lock Auto Start/Stop off?
No. Its purpose is to remember or automatically restore your preferred setting rather than remove the factory control. The original A-OFF button remains usable, so you can change the Stop/Start setting manually whenever you want.
Where exactly is this eliminator installed?
It installs behind the factory Auto Stop/Start button in the center-stack switch assembly. After carefully removing the required trim and panel fasteners, unplug the switch connector and connect the 6.10-inch module inline between the factory button and the vehicle wiring harness.
Do I need an OBD-II programmer, ECU tune, or wire cutting?
No. This version is a plug-in switch harness. It uses the factory switch connector and does not require cutting or splicing the original wiring, flashing the ECU, or coding the truck through the OBD-II port.
Can I remove the module later and return the Silverado to stock?
Yes. Because the module sits inline between the factory switch and vehicle harness, it can be removed later. Reconnect the original factory plug directly to the switch to restore the original wiring configuration.
