2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Auto Start Stop Memory Module | Plug & Play
Description
2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Auto Start Stop Memory Module
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Automatic Stop/Start system can shut the engine off when the truck comes to a complete stop and restart it when driving resumes.
For drivers who normally prefer the system OFF, the main inconvenience is simple: the factory setting does not remain disabled after the next vehicle startup.
Chevrolet states that Stop/Start is enabled each time the vehicle is started.
The Recontrol-X Auto Start Stop Memory Module is designed to restore the driver's preferred OFF state automatically instead of requiring the same A-OFF button press after every ignition cycle.
Remember the Setting You Actually Use
Automatically restores the OFF preference: Designed for Silverado owners who routinely disable Auto Stop immediately after starting the truck.
Original A-OFF control remains available: The system is not intended to permanently remove the factory switch from normal use.
No ECU tune or permanent software change: The module works through the factory Stop/Start switch circuit.
This switch-based memory concept is also used by established Silverado-specific solutions, where the module connects behind the factory Stop/Start switch and restores the owner's preference automatically after an ignition cycle.
6.10-Inch Inline Switch Harness
The product measures approximately:
6.10 inches overall
It consists of a compact control module between two matching plug-style connectors.
The module is designed to sit inline in the existing electrical path:
Vehicle harness → Recontrol-X module → factory Auto Stop/Start button
This is important because RC-ASSE-30 is not an OBD-II dongle, hood-latch workaround, or BCM-mounted module.
Center-Stack Installation
The supplied installation guide shows a four-stage process.
1. Remove the lower trim bezel fastener and carefully pull the lower trim bezel outward.
2. Release the lower trim panel and surrounding dash trim.
3. Remove the required panel screws and move the panel sufficiently to access the switch-bank wiring.
4. Disconnect the factory Auto Stop/Start button connector and install the Recontrol-X module inline between the button and factory harness. Reinstall the panels after confirming the connector is fully seated.
The electrical connection itself is straightforward, but panel removal should be done carefully to avoid damaging clips or trim.
Real Silverado owners using the same switch-location approach repeatedly identify trim removal and accessing the correct connector as the part that requires the most care.
No Permanent Factory-Harness Modification
No cutting of the factory switch wiring
No wire splicing
No permanent modification of the original connector
No ECU flash required for this inline switch-module installation
Because the module plugs inline, the original connection can also be restored by removing the module and reconnecting the factory harness directly to the button.
Factory A-OFF Button Remains Important
This product should not be described as a permanent software “delete.”
Its purpose is better described as:
automatically restoring the preferred Stop/Start setting after startup.
That means customers who normally want Auto Stop OFF no longer need to repeat the same action every drive, while the factory switch remains part of the vehicle controls.
2021 Silverado — Check Before Ordering
This is especially important.
Chevrolet's own 2021 Silverado specification states:
- most vehicles built on or after June 7, 2021
- equipped with a V8 engine
- and 10-speed automatic transmission
were produced without Automatic Stop/Start and its associated content.
So for a 2021 Silverado:
Do not order solely because “2021 Silverado 1500” appears in the fitment table.
First confirm the actual truck has the factory Stop/Start system and its A-OFF disable switch.
Vehicle Fitment
Designed for:
2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Trim and engine combinations are not separately specified in this listing.
What This Module Is Not
This product is intended for a normally functioning Stop/Start system that the owner prefers to keep OFF.
It is not intended to repair:
Stop/Start unavailable warnings
Battery or charging faults
Damaged switch wiring
Diagnostic trouble codes
Abnormal engine stalling or restarting
Chevrolet notes that low battery charge, HVAC demand, temperature, hood position, selected drive modes and other conditions can independently prevent normal Auto Stop operation.

S&Q
Does this module fit every 2019-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
It is designed for 2019, 2020, and 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks equipped with the factory Automatic Stop/Start system and A-OFF button. Before ordering, physically confirm that your truck has this feature. This is particularly important on some 2021 trucks that were factory-built without Automatic Stop/Start.
Will I still need to press the A-OFF button after every startup?
No. The memory module is designed to automatically restore your preferred Auto Stop OFF setting after startup. Chevrolet's factory system normally enables Stop/Start again each time the truck is started.
Can I still use the factory Auto Stop button after installation?
Yes. The purpose of the memory-module design is to restore your preferred startup setting while keeping the factory A-OFF control available for normal manual operation.
How is the module installed?
It installs behind the center-stack Auto Stop/Start button. The lower and surrounding trim panels are carefully released, the factory switch connector is unplugged, and the 6.10-inch module is inserted inline between the button and vehicle harness. The supplied installation procedure does not require cutting or splicing the original switch wiring.
My 2021 Silverado does not have an A-OFF button. Can I still use this module?
No. Do not order this switch-based module if the truck was not factory-equipped with Automatic Stop/Start and the corresponding control. Chevrolet states that many 2021 V8/10-speed Silverado 1500 trucks built on or after June 7, 2021 were produced without Stop/Start.
