The GMC Sierra 1500's Stop/Start system can automatically shut the engine off while the truck is stopped and restart it when driving resumes.
For many owners, the issue is not that a disable button is missing—the Sierra already provides one on equipped trucks. The issue is that the factory system is enabled again after the next vehicle startup. GMC confirms this behavior in its official Stop/Start guidance.

Disconnect the Auto Stop/Start switch connector.
Insert the Recontrol-X module between the factory button and original harness.
Fully seat the connectors and reinstall the panel.

Does this fit my 2019-2021 GMC Sierra 1500?
It is designed for 2019, 2020, and 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 trucks that actually have the factory Automatic Stop/Start system and A-OFF control. Check the physical switch before purchasing, especially on a 2021 truck.
Does it remember my Auto Stop OFF preference after restart?
That is the purpose of this memory module. GMC normally enables Stop/Start again each time the vehicle is started; the module is designed to automatically restore the preferred OFF state so the driver does not have to repeat the same button press.
Can the factory Auto Stop button stil be used?
