2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair Auto Start Stop Eliminator | A/C Panel Memory Module
Description
2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair Auto Start Stop Eliminator
Lincoln's Auto-Start-Stop system is designed to reduce unnecessary idling by automatically stopping the gasoline engine when the vehicle is stationary under suitable operating conditions and restarting it when the driver prepares to move again.
For drivers who prefer the engine to remain running at stops, the main inconvenience is not turning Auto-Start-Stop off once—it is having to repeat that preference after another startup.
Lincoln's 2020 Corsair documentation states that Auto-Start-Stop can be deactivated through the instrument-panel control and touchscreen, but the deactivation lasts only one key cycle. The same behavior is documented again for the 2021 and 2022 Corsair.
The Recontrol-X module is designed to reduce that repetitive routine.
Designed Around the Corsair's Center Control Area
The supplied installation materials show a specific installation architecture for this product.
Rather than plugging into the OBD-II diagnostic port, installation begins by carefully releasing the A/C control panel cover with a trim tool. The factory wiring connector behind the panel is then located, the module is connected inline, and the control panel is reinstalled.
The basic architecture is:
Factory Vehicle Harness → Recontrol-X Module → Original Control Assembly
This allows the module to remain hidden behind the factory interior trim after installation.
Do Not Mix Installation Instructions From Different Corsair Products
This is an important customer-service point.
An established competing Corsair eliminator uses a completely different connection point—the gateway module on the backside of the diagnostic-port area.
That does not mean one product is inherently correct and the other is wrong. It means different products can use different electrical architectures.
Customers should therefore follow the installation instructions for the actual harness received rather than searching “Corsair Auto Stop Eliminator installation” and assuming every video applies.
Targets the One-Key-Cycle Reset Problem
The real function of this product is straightforward:
reduce the need to manually deactivate Auto-Start-Stop again after each ignition cycle.
That is a stronger and more accurate selling point than unsupported claims about starter life, battery longevity, engine wear or fuel economy.
Lincoln itself confirms that the factory OFF selection is temporary and resets after the next key cycle.
Gasoline and PHEV Configurations Should Not Be Treated as Identical
This is one of the most important fitment checks for the Corsair.
Lincoln's documentation separates gasoline Auto-Start-Stop from the vehicle's Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle operating system.
The supplied product fitment identifies:
2020 Lincoln Corsair
2021 Lincoln Corsair
2022 Lincoln Corsair
but does not independently specify gasoline versus Grand Touring/PHEV.
For that reason, this page should not advertise:
“Fits every Corsair powertrain” or “Grand Touring compatible”
without additional verification.
Normal Auto-Start-Stop Operation Can Vary
Even when the factory system is enabled, the engine may not stop at every traffic light.
Lincoln lists several factors that can prevent an automatic stop or trigger an automatic restart, including battery condition, cabin heating or cooling demand, window defogging, driver-door or seat-belt status and electrical load.
That is normal vehicle logic and does not automatically indicate a product problem.
Not a Repair for an Existing Fault
The module is intended for a normally functioning Auto-Start-Stop system.
If the vehicle already has an Auto-Start-Stop warning, electrical problem, damaged control panel or battery-related fault, that issue should be diagnosed separately rather than expecting an eliminator module to repair it.

S&Q
Why does Auto-Start-Stop turn back on after I restart my Corsair?
Lincoln states that manually deactivating Auto-Start-Stop lasts only one key cycle. After the next ignition cycle, the factory system is available again. This module is designed to remove the need to repeat the same deactivation routine every time you start the vehicle.
Where does this module install?
This version installs behind the A/C/center control panel. The supplied procedure uses a trim tool to release the panel, locate the factory connector behind it, connect the module inline and reinstall the panel. It is not installed as an OBD-II dongle.
Why do some Corsair installation videos show a module near the diagnostic port?
Different products use different connection architectures. One established competing Corsair eliminator connects at the gateway module near the diagnostic connector, while this product's supplied installation uses the A/C control-panel harness. Always follow instructions for the actual module purchased.
Does this automatically fit a Corsair Grand Touring or PHEV?
Do not assume so. Lincoln separates conventional gasoline Auto-Start-Stop from Plug-In Hybrid operation. Because this product's fitment data does not separately identify powertrain, Grand Touring/PHEV owners should verify the actual control-panel connector before ordering.
Why does the engine sometimes stay running even when Auto-Start-Stop is active?
