2023-2025 Chevrolet Colorado Auto Start Stop Memory Module | Plug & Play
Description
2023-2025 Chevrolet Colorado Auto Start Stop Memory Module
The Chevrolet Colorado's factory Stop/Start system can automatically shut the engine off when the truck comes to a complete stop and restart it when the brake pedal is released or the accelerator is pressed.
Chevrolet also specifies that Auto Stop/Start is enabled each time the vehicle is started. That means drivers who normally prefer the feature OFF have to make the same selection again on the next drive.
The Recontrol-X Auto Start Stop Memory Module is designed to automate that repeated preference by restoring the OFF state at startup while keeping the factory A-OFF switch available for normal manual control.
Remember the Setting You Actually Prefer
Automatically restores Auto Stop OFF: Designed for Colorado drivers who routinely press the factory disable button after every startup.
Factory control remains available: If you want Stop/Start enabled again during a particular trip, use the original vehicle button normally.
No permanent software delete: This module works through the factory switch circuit rather than permanently removing the Stop/Start feature from the vehicle.
Professional Colorado-specific products address the same customer problem by interacting directly with the factory Stop/Start switch and restoring the driver's preference after each ignition cycle.
Purpose-Built Harness Layout
This version uses more than a simple short adapter cable.
The product includes:
6.06-inch / 154 mm main inline module
42.83-inch / 1088 mm auxiliary fused lead
Factory-style matching connectors
Panel-removal tool
The longer auxiliary lead terminates in a fused tap-style connection and is intended to provide the module's auxiliary electrical supply.
Because the power lead is part of the actual RC-ASSE-29 design, this product should not be described as identical to the earlier BCM-based Colorado eliminator.
Installation at the Factory Auto Stop/Start Switch Circuit
This version interfaces with the factory Auto Stop/Start switch circuit in the dashboard/center control area.
A typical installation sequence is:
1. Turn the vehicle completely off before beginning.
2. Carefully release the required dash/trim panel using the supplied non-marring plastic tool.
3. Gain access to the rear of the factory Auto Stop/Start switch assembly.
4. Disconnect the original factory switch connector.
5. Install the matching Recontrol-X connectors inline between the factory switch circuit and the original vehicle harness.
6. Route the long auxiliary fused lead neatly to the required interior power/fuse connection.
7. Secure the wiring so it cannot be pinched when the trim is reinstalled.
8. Reassemble the panel and verify operation with the factory A-OFF button.
Current Colorado-specific switch modules use the same general architecture of accessing the rear of the Auto Stop/Start switch and installing a module inline with that connection.
Do not choose an arbitrary fuse position simply because the included lead uses a fuse tap. Follow the installation instructions for the specified power connection.
No Need to Give Up the Factory A-OFF Button
One of the most useful characteristics of this design is that the module does not have to permanently remove access to Stop/Start.
Normal startup: the module restores the preferred OFF behavior.
Want Stop/Start back: press the original A-OFF control manually.
This is more accurately described as a memory module / automatic preference-restoration device than as a permanent Stop/Start deletion.
Vehicle Fitment
Designed for:
2023 Chevrolet Colorado
2024 Chevrolet Colorado
2025 Chevrolet Colorado
Trim and engine configurations are not separately specified.
Even though current aftermarket Colorado products frequently advertise 2026 compatibility, this Recontrol-X listing should remain 2023–2025 until your own fitment data is updated.
Before Ordering
Confirm the truck is a 2023-2025 Chevrolet Colorado.
Confirm the factory Auto Stop/Start disable button is present.
Compare the dashboard switch layout and connector with the product imagery.
Check that the switch-area wiring has not previously been modified.
Follow the supplied power-lead installation instructions rather than selecting an interior fuse position by guesswork.
Not a Repair Device
This product is designed for a normally functioning Stop/Start system that the driver prefers to keep OFF.
It is not intended to repair:
Stop/Start unavailable conditions
Battery or charging-system faults
Switch or wiring damage
Diagnostic trouble codes
Abnormal stalling or restarting
Chevrolet lists battery charge, HVAC demand, temperature, hood position and other operating conditions that can independently prevent Auto Stop from occurring.

S&Q
Does this memory module fit my Chevrolet Colorado?
It is designed for 2023, 2024, and 2025 Chevrolet Colorado models equipped with the factory Auto Stop/Start system and A-OFF control. This listing does not claim 2026 compatibility, so order according to the model years shown here.
Will I still have to press A-OFF after every startup?
No. The module is designed to automatically restore your preferred Auto Stop OFF state when the truck starts. Chevrolet's factory system normally enables Stop/Start again each time the vehicle is started.
Can I still turn Auto Stop back on?
Yes. The original factory A-OFF control remains usable. If you want Stop/Start active for a particular drive, use the original button to change the setting manually.
What is the long red lead on the module for?
The main module uses a short inline switch harness, while the approximately 42.83-inch auxiliary lead terminates in a fused power connection. During installation, route that lead to the specified interior power/fuse location rather than choosing a fuse position at random.
Do I need to cut the factory wiring or program the truck?
The module is designed around matching factory-style connectors, so the original switch wiring does not need to be cut or spliced. It is an electrical switch-interface module rather than an ECU tune or permanent software modification.
