2019-2023 Chevrolet Traverse Auto Start Stop Eliminator | Plug & Play
Description
2019-2023 Chevrolet Traverse Auto Start Stop Eliminator
The Chevrolet Traverse Stop/Start system can automatically shut the engine off when the vehicle comes to a complete stop and restart it when the brake pedal is released or the accelerator is pressed. For drivers who prefer to keep the engine running during routine stops, this Recontrol-X plug-in harness is designed to reduce unwanted Auto Stop operation without permanently modifying the factory wiring. Chevrolet documents this Stop/Start behavior in the Traverse owner's manual.
Take Control of Auto Stop
Helps prevent unwanted automatic engine shutdown: Designed for everyday stop-and-go driving where you prefer the engine to remain running instead of entering Auto Stop.
Uses the existing factory connection: The eliminator installs inline at the sensor harness connector behind the hood switch mechanism near the hood-latch area.
Removable plug-in design: If you want to return the vehicle to its original configuration, remove the harness and reconnect the original factory plug.
This product changes normal Auto Stop behavior only. It is not an engine performance tune, diagnostic tool, battery repair device, or solution for an existing mechanical or electrical fault.
Simple Connector-Based Installation
Open the hood and locate the factory sensor harness connector behind the hood switch mechanism.
Disconnect the original factory plug, then connect the Recontrol-X eliminator inline between the existing connectors. Make sure both locking mechanisms are fully seated before arranging and securing the wiring.
The harness measures approximately 7.48 inches, giving it a compact installation footprint around the factory connection point.
No wire cutting or splicing
No drilling
No ECU programming
No OBD-II tool
After installation, keep the harness clear of the hood-latch mechanism, fans, belts, hot engine components, and other moving parts.
Chevrolet itself lists an open hood among the conditions that can prevent an Auto Stop event, which is consistent with why this type of product is installed in the hood-switch circuit.

Before You Order
Confirm your vehicle is a 2019-2023 Chevrolet Traverse.
Confirm your Traverse is equipped with the Engine Stop/Start system.
Compare the hood-latch sensor connector with the product images.
Check that the original connector and wiring have not been altered or replaced.
If the connector does not match, do not force the harness into another nearby connection.

S&Q
Does RC-ASSE-16-07 fit a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?
No. This SKU covers the listed 2019–2023 Chevrolet Traverse applications. Do not extend the fitment to 2024; select a product only after that model year and connector are separately confirmed.
What benefit does the eliminator provide in stop-and-go driving?
While connected, it helps keep the engine from entering normal Auto Stop at routine pauses, giving the Traverse a more consistent engine-running feel through traffic lights, pickup lines and queues.
How is the Traverse module connected under the hood?
It plugs inline at the factory hood-ajar sensor connector near the front latch. Seat both locks fully and secure the 7.48-inch harness away from the latch mechanism, fan, belts and heat.
Can a repair shop still use the OBD-II diagnostic port?
Yes. The eliminator installs at the under-hood connector and does not occupy the OBD-II port, so normal scan-tool access remains available.
Will the module repair a hood-ajar warning or weak-battery Start/Stop problem?
No. Existing hood, battery, wiring or Start/Stop warnings require diagnosis. The module controls normal automatic shutdown behavior and should be installed only on a properly operating vehicle.
