Infiniti Auto Start Stop Eliminators & Idling Stop System Solutions

Turned automatic engine Stop/Start off in your Infiniti, only to find the system active again the next time you start the vehicle? Infiniti commonly refers to this feature as the Idling Stop System, and on equipped vehicles the system can automatically stop the engine while the vehicle is stationary and restart it when driving or vehicle conditions require the engine to run again.

On applicable Infiniti vehicles, the factory Idling Stop OFF control can temporarily deactivate the feature. However, restarting the engine can reactivate the system, which means drivers who regularly prefer Idling Stop off may have to make the same selection again on another drive.

Recontrol-X Infiniti Auto Start Stop Eliminators are designed for drivers who want more consistent control over that repeated Start/Stop preference.

Because Infiniti vehicles can differ by model year, generation, electrical architecture, control layout, and installation design, the correct solution should always be matched to the exact vehicle application.

Use Search by Vehicle to select your Infiniti year and model, then review the matching product page for confirmed fitment, connector information, installation method, and product-specific operation.

What Is the Infiniti Idling Stop System?

Infiniti uses the term Idling Stop System on current equipped vehicles, while some earlier applications use the closely related term Idle Stop/Start System.

When the required operating conditions are satisfied, the system can automatically stop the engine while the vehicle is stationary. Releasing the brake or another vehicle requirement can cause the engine to restart automatically.

Drivers may also encounter terms such as Auto Start Stop, Auto Stop, Stop/Start, Idle Stop, ISS, or Start Stop when searching for the same general feature.

That is why a product may be described as an Infiniti Auto Start Stop Eliminator, Idling Stop Disable Module, ISS Disabler, or Start Stop Memory Module even though Infiniti's own terminology may differ by vehicle generation.

Why Does Infiniti Idling Stop Turn Back On After Restarting?

The factory Idling Stop OFF control allows the driver to temporarily prevent automatic engine stopping.

The important word is temporarily.

On applicable Infiniti vehicles, restarting the engine reactivates the Idling Stop System. Infiniti owner information also states that the system can reset to ON each time the ignition moves from OFF back to ON.

For drivers who regularly prefer Idling Stop off, the issue is therefore not the absence of an OFF control.

It is having to repeat the same choice after another startup.

A vehicle-specific eliminator or memory solution is intended to reduce that repetitive interaction according to the operating strategy of the exact Infiniti application.

“Not Available” Does Not Always Mean the System Has a Fault

Infiniti's vehicle information display can provide more detail than a simple ON or OFF status.

Depending on the application, the display may indicate that Idling Stop is being inhibited because current vehicle conditions do not allow the engine to stop automatically.

That is different from a Stop / Start System fault message.

A temporary Idling Stop inhibition can be caused by normal operating conditions. A system fault means the vehicle has detected a malfunction that should be diagnosed separately.

A Start Stop Eliminator manages a driver's preference. It is not intended to repair an existing factory Idling Stop System fault.

Brake Pressure, Steering and A/C Can Change Idling Stop Behavior

Infiniti can provide specific guidance about why the engine did not enter Idling Stop.

For example, the vehicle may ask the driver to press the brake pedal more firmly before the system activates.

Steering-wheel input can also prevent automatic engine stopping on supported applications.

The vehicle can additionally give air conditioning priority, keeping the engine running when cooling, heating, or dehumidifying demand takes priority over Idling Stop.

This means:

“Why didn't my Infiniti Auto Stop this time?”

and

“Why does my Idling Stop preference reset after I restart the vehicle?”

are two different questions.

A Start Stop Eliminator is intended to address the second issue, not override every factory condition that controls whether the engine can stop.

Cabin Comfort Can Take Priority Over Automatic Engine Stop

Infiniti's Idling Stop logic considers cabin comfort as part of normal operation.

When climate-control demand is high, the vehicle may keep the engine running instead of entering Idling Stop. On supported applications, the display can specifically report that air-conditioning priority is preventing automatic engine stopping.

That behavior is intentional.

It explains why the same vehicle may enter Auto Stop at one traffic light but continue running at another, particularly when cabin heating, cooling, or defogging demand changes.

An eliminator manages the preferred system state—it does not replace the Infiniti's climate-control or engine-management logic.

Battery Condition Can Affect Infiniti Idling Stop

Battery condition is another reason Idling Stop may not operate every time.

Infiniti owner information lists low battery capacity and low battery temperature among the conditions that can prevent automatic engine stopping.

After battery replacement or an extended battery-terminal disconnection, it can also take some time before the Idling Stop System resumes normal operation. INFINITI

If the factory system unexpectedly stops working after battery service, that situation should therefore be considered separately from a driver's desire to keep Idling Stop switched off.

A battery-related operating condition and a Start/Stop preference are not the same problem.

Remote Engine Start/Stop Is a Different Infiniti Feature

Infiniti also uses the phrase Remote Engine Start/Stop for a completely separate feature.

Remote Engine Start/Stop allows compatible vehicles to be started or stopped remotely through supported Infiniti connected services or vehicle controls. It is used to prepare the vehicle before the driver enters, including helping bring the cabin toward a comfortable temperature.

The Idling Stop System, by contrast, operates automatically during normal driving when the vehicle comes to a stop.

A product designed to manage the Idling Stop preference should therefore not be confused with a remote-start system or remote-start controller.

The similar terminology describes two different vehicle functions.

Why Infiniti Model Year and Generation Matter

A familiar Infiniti model name does not guarantee that every model year uses the same Start/Stop control architecture.

Vehicle redesigns can change the switch location, center console, dashboard layout, electrical connector, module location, wiring strategy, and installation procedure.

That is why a Start Stop Eliminator should not be selected simply because another Infiniti uses a similar-looking OFF switch.

The correct buying sequence is:

Year → Infiniti → Model → Listed configuration → Matching product

Check the exact product listing before ordering rather than assuming that another model or generation is electrically interchangeable.

Eliminator, ISS Disabler, or Memory Module?

Infiniti owners may encounter several names while shopping:

Infiniti Auto Start Stop Eliminator, Infiniti Idling Stop Eliminator, ISS Disabler, Start Stop Disable Module, Auto Stop Override, and Start Stop Memory Module all describe closely related product categories.

The wording alone does not guarantee identical operation.

Depending on the application, one solution may remember a previous selection, another may restore a preferred OFF state after startup, and another may use a different vehicle-specific control method.

Always use the product listing for the exact Infiniti application to determine how that module operates.

What Does “Permanently Disable Infiniti Auto Start Stop” Really Mean?

Drivers often search for a way to permanently disable Infiniti Auto Start Stop.

For many owners, the real goal is not to physically remove the factory Idling Stop System.

They simply want to avoid repeating the Idling Stop OFF selection every time the vehicle is restarted.

A vehicle-specific eliminator or memory solution may address that repeated preference without necessarily removing the factory system or overriding every engine-management condition built into the vehicle.

The exact behavior depends on the application, so the product-specific operating description matters more than the word “permanent.”

Find the Right Infiniti Auto Start Stop Eliminator

Start with your vehicle rather than a generic harness.

Use Search by Vehicle to select the correct Infiniti year and model, then review the matching product page for exact fitment, connector design, installation location, and Idling Stop behavior.

If the vehicle already displays a persistent Stop/Start system fault, diagnose that condition separately rather than assuming a preference module will repair it.

Select your Infiniti. Confirm the exact application. Then choose the Auto Start Stop Eliminator designed for that vehicle.
